MARTA PÉREZ IBÁÑEZ

After training at the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid, Spain, where she graduated in Art History in 1988, and after one year working at the Spanish Museum of Folk Arts and Traditions, MARTA PEREZ IBANEZ (Madrid, Spain, 1965) joined the team of researchers in Spanish Art at the Frick Art Reference Library in New York, U.S.A., where the project would result in the publication of the library’s bibliographical references on Spanish art.

She came into contact with the Institute of Fine Arts from the University of New York, attending the courses of Prof. Jonathan Brown and undertaking a Master Degree on Art Appraisal. She was also granted a scholarship by the Università Italiana per Stranieri in Perugia, Italy, where she graduated in Art from the Counter Reformation in Umbria and Le Marche with Prof. Pietro Scarpellini. Since returning to Spain in 1991 and until 2008, she was executive manager of Gallery Duran in Madrid, as well as curator of the Duran Painting Awards, which she represented in panel discussions and lectures about art contests.

She currently participates as a juror in many other fine arts awards throughout Spain. Between 1994 and 1998 she gave lectures in the Master of Museology of the Universidad Complutense of Madrid and has worked with the Instituto Superior de Arte teaching courses of Art Galleries Management. At present, she is dedicated to international art and culture management with her company ARTEblanco. She also teaches and coordinates the Areas of Recognition of Contemporary Art and Art Galleries Management at the Master of Art Market and Culture Management of the Universidad Antonio de Nebrija in Madrid, Spain.
